Children are the future, and strong families are God’s plan to raise spiritually healthy children. We recognize this, and we provide opportunities for families and children to learn about the Bible and understand what it means to be a Christian and follow Christ. We do this with a combination of learning and fun.
We do this on Wednesday nights with our AWANA program where children participate in scripture memorization and exciting recreational activities. AWANA is an acronym that means Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed. This concept is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 which says, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.”
We also do this by supporting the family! Scripture is clear the parents are the most effective in raising their children to live according to Christian principles. Further, scripture supports families learning and growing together. Therefore, we have a family Sunday School where families learn together. It is a discussion style format, and the topic is usually centered around the Pastor’s sermon. We focus on being real with God’s Word and discuss real ways we can apply to our lives. The discussion leads to deeper discussion as the the families go through out their week.
We also do this through various family activities such as our Summer Movie Nights, beach days, etc.
